Aim(s) of Project: Achieving the FHS with 200mm cavity masonry & to trial different ASHPs
Construction method: Masonry
Energy Compliance method: SAP 11
Overheating compliance method: TM59
Construction start: Q3 2022
Construction finish: Q2 2023

Overview of Project and Specification
The project involves 4 houses; a pair of semi-detached and two different detached. The construction is masonry using a 200mm cavity. The glazing is expected to be triple glazed (TBC).
Three different monobloc air source heat pumps are being trialled: Ideal Logic, Vaillant aroTHERM and Samsung. PV is on the roof. One house is with MVHR and this will use Posi-Joists to aid ducting. The rest are dMEV.
Embodied Carbon calculations will be conducted to assess the impact of the change in specification.

Key learnings
- More learnings will become apparent as the project proceeds (this report will be updated)
- The main expectations are around issues with the 200mm cavity:
- Impact on bucket size for diggers
- Should the cavity be insulated with bead of fibre?
- Impact of the different heat pump choices.
