This process flow is intended to provide guidance on the steps required to implement BNG on residential projects of all sizes and complexities. Therefore it is focused on the identified stages within the existing planning process, interlinked with the BNG stages identified in the Planning Practice Guidance.
It is recognised that there are multiple nuances to the process depending on project scale, type and location, especially when considering the offsite market. This flow is intended to be used as the basis for parties to apply their project-specific flows, including their developing internal good practices for implementing BNG. As with any nascent policy this process is evolving, especially in terms of what good practice looks like.
