What is the webinar about?
The Planning Advisory Service (PAS) has been working with Urban Design Learning (UDL) to collate good practice in biodiversity net gain implementation in local planning authorities. In this webinar, Paul Dodd from UDL will present hints and tips for developers in working with LPAs to address key challenges with BNG and help unlock faster decision-making, based on conversations with LPAs and developers. Paul will be supported by Beccy Moberly from PAS.
Meet the Speakers

Paul Dodd, Urban Design Learning
Paul is an accomplished masterplanner and public space designer. He is an active design review chair and has contributed to numerous best practice guides on design coding, urban design, streets and GI. At Urban Design Learning, Paul leads on the streets and GI training programmes, design review and providing support for local authority-led development and public realm improvement schemes. Paul is co-author of the PAS good practice guidance on BNG.

Beccy Moberly, Planning Advisory Service
Beccy has worked as a Principal Consultant at the Planning Advisory Service (PAS) for five years. She currently leads MHCLG-funded projects supporting local authorities in implementing Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and nutrient neutrality, alongside the transition of the latter to the Nature Restoration Fund and Environmental Delivery Plans. Prior to joining PAS, following a successful career in environmental planning at Natural England, she spent two years on secondment to the Environment Agency, leading the Local Natural Capital Plan (LNCP) for the Oxford to Cambridge Arc and as the Agency’s Director for the Arc.
